Nigeria Software Testing Board(NSTB)
Having been duly certified and admitted into the apex body regulating software testing internationally, the International Software Testing & Quality Board (ISTQB), on the 4th November, 2006; the Nigeria Software Testing Board was formed here in Nigeria to monitor and regulate the practice of software/applications testing in this country to raise and maintain the standards of the same to conform to internationally acceptable standards.
Our mission is to:
• Increase awareness of software testing as a separate profession in Nigeria
• Implement a certified Testers’ Scheme within Nigeria
• Facilitate certification of IT professionals according to ISTQB standards
• Facilitate accreditation of training providers to supply courses which meet the syllabi of ISTQB
• Establish testing as a worthwhile career path for IT testing professionals
• Contribute to the Nigerian testing community through organizing conferences, cooperating with the industry and other organizations, publishing white papers and liaising with IT-affiliated individuals and organizations, both local and international; in keeping up with current trends in the testing field
• Contribute to the ISTQB Scheme through working parties.
We also facilitate the certification of hitherto unqualified testers so as to maintain a uniform degree of professionalism consistent with ISTQB’s
stringent standards as regards international testing requirements.
